ABSTRACT
This research was intended to analyze and select the cash crops most suitable for growing during the dry season in Tung Kula Rong Hai, Thailand. Most of the area is agricultural and about 85 % of the total area is unused after the paddy-farming season. In order to gain benefits from these abandoned lands, crops requiring less water should be grown instead of paddy rice in the dry season. Geographical information technology was used to evaluate suitable areas while accounting for transportation costs and profit. The results of this study indicated that about 9.67% of farm land has the potential for growing dry-season crops out of a total area of 2,107,690 rais.
From the criterion, which included soil properties, water quantity, size of area, crops price, and distance between the growing source and the market, it can be summarized that the highest profit able crops to grow were as follows: soybean 84.4 %, corn 8.8 %, sesame 3.2%, cassava 2.7% and green bean 0.8%  in an area of 36,487.57 rais.
